An open door to education for every child.
The Foundation works with schools, families and industry so that talent — not circumstance — decides how far a young person goes.
How we work
Bring the right people into the same place, and the work follows.
The Foundation is a convener as much as a funder. Business, schools, players and the communities that host them — sport is what reliably brings them together, and what happens once they are there is the point.
Companies that support the work join a standing network rather than a donor list. A four-ball is four hours in company; a tournament is four weeks of it. Partners meet each other, meet the programmes their contribution pays for, and find collaborations of their own — which is what most of them come back for.
An event is also an economy. When the Powerico Winter Games are staged in Tembisa, the crowd brings trade with it: stalls along the touchline, food, merchandise, services bought nearby for the length of the tournament. Where an event is held and what is procured locally are deliberate decisions, because that spending stays in the community that hosted it.
Sport also reaches young people a classroom programme never will. A league, a proper kit, a coach who knows a learner's name — these turn attendance into belonging, and they give ability somewhere to be seen by someone in a position to act on it. Finishing school still matters enormously, and we strengthen the schools that already exist rather than build parallel structures beside them.
The same convening power creates rooms where what society is facing can be worked through openly — learners, parents, educators, business, sport and government, across disagreement and in public. Better societies are built in rooms like that, not announced.

Where the Foundation convenes.
Two fixtures carry the Foundation’s year, and both are where the network actually meets — partners, schools, players and the communities that host them. The Winter Games ran for four weeks this winter; the Golf Day is still to come.
